Understanding Your GEO Score

What is a GEO Score?

Your GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) Score measures how well your content is optimized for AI search engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. Scores range from 0-100.

Score Ranges

  • **0-30 (Poor)**: Your content lacks the signals AI engines need to cite it. Significant improvements needed.
  • **31-50 (Fair)**: Some optimization present, but major gaps exist. Focus on schema and content structure.
  • **51-70 (Good)**: Solid foundation with room for improvement. Fine-tune entity optimization and citations.
  • **71-85 (Very Good)**: Well-optimized for AI. Continue monitoring and make incremental improvements.
  • **86-100 (Excellent)**: Top-tier AI visibility. Maintain current practices and stay ahead of algorithm changes.

How It's Calculated

Your GEO Score is calculated across four dimensions:

**1. Schema Completeness (25%)** Measures the presence and quality of structured data markup on your pages.

**2. Content AI-Readiness (35%)** Evaluates how well your content answers questions, includes facts, and cites sources.

**3. Entity Optimization (25%)** Checks if your content properly defines entities (people, products, organizations) that AI can understand.

**4. Technical Signals (15%)** Assesses page speed, mobile optimization, and other technical factors AI engines consider.
