For exporters and importers

Export or import goods? A GST refund or a customs credit depends on paperwork. We keep it in order.

Exporters and importers deal with paperwork a domestic business never sees. An export carries no GST, but only if the letter that allows it is filed and renewed every year. The GST you paid on your purchases sits stuck until you claim it back as a refund. The money from a foreign buyer has to arrive inside the time the law allows. Miss that window and a refund you already received can be taken back. We keep the paperwork current, claim your refunds, and check every foreign payment before it leaves.

  • Every filing is checked before you approve it
  • A reply the same working day
  • One fixed fee a month

What is different for you

What a general accounting page will not tell you.

Your IEC needs yearly attention, even with no changes.

Every importer and exporter needs a number from the government called an IEC before the first shipment. It must be confirmed every year on the government portal, even if nothing has changed, or it stops working.

Exports carry no GST, but only with the right filing.

An export is zero-rated, which means no GST if the export rules are met. Most exporters file a letter of undertaking, called an LUT, to ship without paying GST first. Without one, you pay the tax on every export and claim it back afterwards. Your money sits with the government until the refund comes.

Tax paid on your purchases piles up when you sell abroad.

GST you paid on raw material, packing or freight does not vanish. If you also sell in India, it reduces what you owe there. If you sell only abroad, there is nothing to set it against, so you claim it back as a refund. That claim has a deadline of its own, and it needs the shipping and payment papers behind it.

GST paid at customs is credit, but customs duty is not.

When goods enter India you pay GST at customs before they are released. That GST can be claimed against what you owe, once it is matched to the customs papers for that shipment. The basic customs duty on the same shipment works the other way. It never comes back, so it belongs in the cost of your goods and in your price.

The money has to arrive within the time the law allows.

Your export benefit depends on the payment reaching you inside that window. Your bank issues a certificate that proves it arrived. If the money is late, a refund you already received can be recovered, with interest.

The rupee moves between your invoice and your payment.

The exchange rate on the day you bill is rarely the rate on the day you are paid. That gap is a gain or a loss, and it belongs in your books. Any invoice still open at the year end is restated at the rate on that date.

What we do for you

Every month, this is what we take over.

  • We keep your IEC active. Confirmed every year on the government portal, so a missed step never stops a shipment.
  • We keep your export filing current. Your letter of undertaking filed and renewed every year, so your exports stay free of GST.
  • We claim your refunds and your import credit. The GST stuck in your export purchases, and the GST paid at customs on your imports. We also check the export schemes, such as RoDTEP and duty drawback. RoDTEP gives back some of the tax built into your export price. It has to be claimed in the shipping bill on the day you export, and it cannot be added later.
  • Payments in and out, with the papers each one needs. Your bank certificate for money coming in, tracked against the deadline. For money going out, your bank asks for two forms, called 15CA and 15CB. You declare the payment and a CA certifies the tax on it. A plain payment for goods you imported usually needs neither.
  • Everything beyond your shipments. Books, GST, TDS, income tax, ROC where it applies, and notices. We run all of it as your finance team, for one fixed fee.

Money you do not claim back stays with the government. In a trading business that is a large number every year.

Software does the routine work. Our team reviews every return. You approve, then we file. How it works

Questions

Things people in your position ask.

Do I need to pay GST on my exports?

No, if the export rules are met and you have a letter of undertaking in place. Without it, you pay the tax on the export first and claim it back later. The money is not lost, but it sits with the government while you wait. We keep the letter filed and renewed every year.

What is an IEC, and do I need one?

It is a number from the government that every importer and exporter needs before the first shipment. It also needs a yearly online confirmation, even with no changes, or it stops working. We track that for you.

I paid GST when my goods arrived from customs. Can I get it back?

Yes, as credit against the GST you owe, not as cash in most cases. It has to be claimed and matched to the right period, or it sits unused. The basic customs duty on the same shipment is a different thing. That one does not come back, so we put it into the cost of your goods.

Do I need a CA certificate before I pay a supplier abroad?

It depends on what the payment is for. A plain payment for goods you imported usually needs no certificate. A payment for services, software, a licence or an agent's commission usually needs two forms. A CA has to certify the tax position on one of them. We check every payment before it leaves, so your bank does not stop it.

Can you take on a business that only imports, not exports?

Yes. Importers face their own paperwork, from customs GST to payments sent abroad. We run all of it alongside your regular books, GST, TDS and returns.
